The A20 project involved the construction of 2.4km of new single carriageway complete with 4 new roundabouts and shared cycle and footway facilities on both sides, delivering a new bypass around the south of Newtownards town centre and linking the main A20 Belfast, A21 Comber and A20 Portaferry roads. The scheme also included the reconstruction of 800m of the existing Comber Road and the Design & Build of a 13m span Road Bridge crossing the Newtownards Lower Drainage Canal to access the proposed Castle Bawn development. Works included:
- Site Clearance, including trees & shrubs
- Earthworks, including D&B of 3 reinforced earth embankments
- D&B of 2no. earth retaining walls
- D&B of Load Transfer approach and departure slabs to the bridge structure
- Street Lighting, including specialist lighting in vicinity of airport
- New Traffic signals – 2 signalised junctions and 1 Belisha pedestrian crossing

- Fencing, including Badger fencing & Environmental sound barriers
- Safety Fencing & Parapet railings
