The A3 contract comprised carriageway resurfacing to to a 4km section of the existing A3 Monaghan Road between Farnaloy Road and Magheraville Road, Ballyhoy. The scheme also included the raising of existing gullies, footway resurfacing, replacement of existing kerbs, replacement of existing Vehicle Restraint System, kerbing, roadmarkings and accommodation works.
Work activities included:-
- Extensive Traffic Management – The A3 is a key Link Corridor to Monaghan and the Republic of Ireland, carrying in excess of 5,500 vehicles/day. The traffic management comprised a Road Closure with a temporary diversion was implemented and maintained for the duration of the works, requiring the approval of DfI Roads Service & Monaghan County Council representatives.
Access was maintained for local residents and businesses located within the site boundary.
