Following the massive success of the Downshire road, we have continued our work in Newry and have completed resurfacing works in Lower Water, Mill & Water Street.
The works consisted of a drainage investigation to identify any areas that needed to be fixed. All kerbs were removed and replaced with new materials, except on Mill Street where the existing granite kerbs were returned. The footpath renewal consisted of applying an asphalt wearing course to make it more long lasting, along with this the new and existing crossing points were given tactile paving which would also make it more durable.
All work was done with the public in mind, with staff carrying out procedures in sections so as to not take up too many parking spaces.
The work took four nights to complete.
Another great job done by our Blacktop squad & MMcG Road Markings
