The project comprised the Design and Build of a new DDA compliant bitmac coastal path and elevated walkway along a 200m length of the North Down Coastal Path at Seahill, Cultra, Co. Down.
Works included:
- Site Clearance, including demolition of existing clifftop walkway on completion
- Earthworks, including rock cutting of cliff to form path shelf
- Auger boring and placing steel tubular piles to support elevated walkway
- Erection of 1.8m wide elevated walkway
- Reinforced concrete bank seats and retaining wall to support coastal path
- Guard rails
- Drainage
- Rock Armour
- Works completed in tidal conditions
- Works were completed adjacent to designated Belfast Lough ASSI & SAC, with auger boring and placement of steel tubular piles monitored and controlled by Marine Mammal Observer
